Búrið ~ The Icelandic Pantry is a quirky cheese shop in Reykjavík offering the best in gloriously stinky cheeses from around the globe together with a selection of jams, cured meats, olives, chutneys and other nibbles and noshes that make life worth living. Búrið has developed a strong following among curd nerds for its selection of speciality foods from dairy farms and other small, local producers all over Iceland. Look out for temptations such as rhubarb caramels and birch syrup …
The shop was opened by one brave soul in fall of 2008, Eirný Sigurðardóttir, a dedicated curd nerd who is keen on fighting the good the fight for all cheeses. If you’re a fellow cheesehead, pop in and have a chat with Eirný to find out what all the stinks about.
